Delete your account

You can delete your Qareeb account yourself, at any time, from inside the app — no phone call and no approval needed. This page explains the steps, and sets out exactly what is deleted, what is retained, and why.

Last updated: 26 August 2026

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Your account, your order history, and your wallet balance cannot be restored afterwards.

How to delete your account

Customer app

Directly inside the app:

  1. Open the Qareeb app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to the “More” tab in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Delete account”.
  4. Read the warning that appears, then confirm by tapping “Delete permanently”.

The deletion runs immediately on confirmation, and your device is signed out automatically.

Driver app

Directly inside the app:

  1. Open the Qareeb Driver app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to the “My account” tab in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Delete account” below the sign-out button.
  4. Read the warning that appears, then confirm by tapping “Delete permanently”.

Deletion is refused while you have an order or ride in progress, an open shift, a wallet balance (in your favour or owed), or a withdrawal or transfer receipt under review — the app tells you which, so you can clear it first. After that it runs immediately on confirmation and your device is signed out automatically.

Before you delete

  • Spend or transfer your wallet balance — it cannot be recovered after deletion. Drivers: withdraw your balance or settle what you owe until it reaches zero.

  • Make sure you have no order or ride still in progress — and, for drivers, end your shift.

  • Save any invoices you need from your past orders inside the app first.

What gets deleted

The moment you confirm, with no waiting period:

  • Your account is deactivated and can no longer be signed in to.
  • Every session on every device ends at the same moment.
  • Your name, email address and profile photo are removed.
  • Your phone number is released from the account, so you can register with it again later as a new account.
  • All your saved places are deleted (home, work, and anywhere else you added).
  • Your saved payment methods are deleted.
  • Your device push tokens are revoked, so platform notifications stop reaching you.
  • Your identity is stripped from any support tickets you opened (name, email and phone removed).
  • For drivers as well: the registration documents you uploaded (ID, licence, vehicle photo) and their numbers are deleted.
  • For drivers as well: your national ID number, date of birth, password, payout details (bank, IBAN, account number), plate number and last recorded location are removed.
  • For drivers as well: your service zones are removed, your pending ride offers are withdrawn, and requests stop reaching you.

What is retained, and why

Some records cannot be deleted because they involve another party or are required for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution. These are retained with no link to your name or number:

  • Completed order and trip records: order number, its two points, distance, price, and stage timestamps.
  • The associated financial entries: commission, driver and vendor payouts, and payment transactions.
  • Support tickets and order-related correspondence, with your identity removed.
  • Ratings and reviews you left, detached from your name.
  • Prescription requests attached to a pharmacy order, for as long as that order record must be kept.
  • For drivers: the orders and rides you carried out, wallet entries, withdrawal requests, and shift and vehicle-inspection history — without your name or number.

When deletion happens

  • In both apps: immediately on confirmation — no delay and no cooling-off period.
  • In the driver app this first requires no order in progress, no open shift, and a zero wallet balance with no pending withdrawal or receipt.
  • Technical backups may retain copies for a limited period before they are rotated out in the normal backup cycle.

Can the account be recovered?

  • No. Deletion is permanent and there is no way to restore the account or its data.
  • You can register again with the same number, but it starts as a new, empty account: no order history, no wallet balance, and no saved places.
  • Promo codes and referrals attached to the deleted account do not carry over to the new one.
